data: 09.02.05 some new shit

some new shit...

If you guys weren't impressed by the 64kbps encoding with which the Myspace site raped our mp3 (and despite my general sympathy with anything that tarnishes the good name of Miocene, I wasn't either), you'll be pleased to know that you can now download the whole thing from Xtaster. It's under the NEW BANDS (the bastards) section, right at the bottom (the bastards).

These fine, good, upstanding people are now using their webspace to host a whopping 8mB mp3 file which would in all probablity bankrupt us. Don't forgetto give Amy Xtaster a big slobbery kiss to say thank you.

I am currently in the throws of a crisis. I don't know which phone to get. I've been offered the Motorola V3, the SE P910i, and some new bizarre PDA style thing which looks amazing, has wi -fi, and would enable me to keep up with emails on tour - but would be likely to earn me a beating were I to answer it on the 73 bendy bus as it was going through Hackney. This strange kind of phone-based inertia is a new one on me but I'm beginning to see it as a metaphor for our very existence: too many options, not enough choice. We walk through the valley of low reception, yet fear no evil, for our phone has bluetooth and we can exchange videos of Jackass-style stunts involving pencils and urethras with our buddies. Yet what if our bluetooth is wiry andunreliable? What if those flat edges mask a poor battery life which leaves us stranded on the M1 with no petrol? What if the promised keypad is tiny and unusable?

Upon this and other imponderables shall I meditate, and return to you with my answer anon.

Fear no darkness, and do not fuck the ill.

-b.
