Looks like I spoke too soon.

On Monday, Alex, our bassist of the last five years and friend of more then fifteen, left Miocene. No details: he just didn't feel that the band was something he wanted to be a part of anymore, and we wish him the best.

We have a potential replacement in mind, but obviously, playing the shows we have booked (an Ultimate Solution night in St Albans and the Eden Maine tour) is going to be an impossibility. Anyone who has tickets for these shows will recieve a guestlist from us to the next shows that we play. Go to them, they'll be good - just email me afterwards and I'll take care of it.

I hate looking like a bullshitter; I hate confirming that we'll do something, then pulling out right at the last minute - a lot of bands have done it to us and I know how much it stings. I know a lot of you will think we're acting like cunts, and you'll have a right to think that. But what I would hate even more than that would be to insult the songs I've put the last three years of my life into by playing them poorly; due to lack of rehearsal or lack of personal chemistry. It won't happen.

When we tour it will be worth seeing. I'm just sorry that that won't be happening right now.

As I mentioned, we have a bassist in mind, but because he hasn't confirmed, we are accepting submissions. You will be London-based, seriousminded, neurosis-free, and talented, with your own equipment, technical ability, willingness to tour, sleep on floors, and not whine about it, and an excellent grasp of dynamics. You will have had your head wedged in a speaker at a dnb club while off your tits on ecstacy at least once. Mp3 demos preferred.

As things move I will update you.
