"twenty questions with ben"

what's in your CD player right now?

a burned copy of the mars volta album with some sage francis and tarentel on the end.

name your top 5 records of all time.

dark side of the moon by pink floyd. shape of punk to come by refused. pet sounds by the beach boys. aenima by tool. hard normal daddy by squarepusher.

the best british record released to date.

i never notice where records are made. probably a radiohead album of one kind or another.

who made you want to pick up and instrument, or join a band?

john bonham of led zeppelin

if you could collaborate with anyone, living or dead, who would it be?

tricky before he turned into a salesman for the fucking GAP

you can perform anywhere in the world, where would you choose?

tokyo, in akihabara, the electric district

you are a member of the opposite sex for a day, what do you do?

masturbate, make sure i get the hang of it, tell every girl i meet that ben miocene was the greatest lay of my life, and go to the candy bar in soho and have my first all girl threesome.

if you could rewind to age 16, what. if anything would you do differently?

take acid a lot earlier, fight less, trust my instincts more.

your most embarrassing moment onstage?

one time in oxford some kid shouted out 'TIMMY' a la the South Park kid in a wheelchair, and i turned it into a hiphop style "when i say TIM you say EE/TIM! EE! TIM! EE!" chant. when i was on the final "when i say TIM" i looked toward the side of the stage to see this kid in a wheelchair look at me like i was the biggest arsehole on the planet. he was right to, too. just something i did without thinking. i never did it again.

your most embarrassing moment offstage?

everytime someone says "are you in miocene?"

your most embarrassing moment growing up?

growing up in dagenham is enough to remove any traces of embarassment about youth - your embarassment factor is already way off the scale. adding to it, even incrementally, is practically impossible

the CD, you wish you hadn't bought?

my first sequencer CD - cubase VST; i paid £399 for it and it didn't do what it was supposed to do. i'm much smarter now

the CD in your collection, that you get ribbed for having?

the insane clown posse album, i forget what it's called, riddlebox or something, which an ex girlfriend gave to me. i maintain that it's actually the logical conclusion of NWA.

your first gig, who did you go and see?

rage against the machine and tool at the brixton academy in like 93.

bour last gig, who did you go and see?

Beecher, aconite thrill, incoherence and project abner upstairs at the garage

what's the craziest thing a fan has done, said or showed you?

their unconsciousness. one kid fainted. i think he must've thought i was johnathan davis from korn

if you were to die tomorrow, what would you do today?

two words: pity fuck

how would you like to be remembered?

i'm not sure that i want to be remembered.

what song do you want to be played at your funeral?

i'm not sure I want a funeral.

sum yourself up in three words...

buy my records
