miocene begin with their backs to the audience, coaxing swelling electronic atmospheres from twin synthesisers. drawing strength from the sound, they turn to deliver a sucker-punch set full of neck-snapping riffs and live drum and bass. old favourite "rivets" unites the venue in a writhing mosh, but miocene have more to offer these days. they have come a long way since 00's refining the theory, dropping the confines of nu-metal to become a band with their own distinct vision.
