probably one of the most talked about bands this year to have emerged from the quagmire of london's grotty toilet scene, miocene release their debut mini album through infernal.

aiming to remove the three minute throw away pop song attention span mentality currently doing the rounds in the world of rock, miocene are certainly promising to do what they intend. brooding, heavy, epic (and long), miocene are a band with serious artistic integrity at work. yes, the instant reference points may be tool and the deftones, but there is a distinct miocene sound at work here that takes the quartet away from the realms of mere impersonators.

from the opening colossal 'rivets' to the closing 'free reign' miocene rock out. it's heavy yet soulful and testosterone free. it's adventurous and a definite grower. miocene have delivered just what we expected.
