miocene's music is of a kind that could be the saviour of the british metal scene. the first track "{rivets}" on this ep quietly move in, slowly building to a very tool like riff, before exploding into an incredible metal guitar stomp, and then proceeding to flow between an amazingly clean singing voice, and some very heavy guitar riffage.

the combination between the smooth, clean voice, and it's flip to amazing hardcore rap, more akin to the likes of biohazard than tool, is enough to fire the blood in even the most tame metaler.

a perfect example of this is track 3, "{fits like that}" where it flows so smoothly through, that the pit at any concert will explode in moments of hardcore madness, and then stand still in awe of the complex melodies flowing all around them

sometime reminiscent of earthtone9 with their brutal riffs, and complex harmony's intertwining perfectly, in a combination that makes you feel that this really is the thinking mans hardcore, to brutal to be a tool copy, yet too subtle and melodic to be written off as a biohazard or earthtone9 rip off.

this ep would be an excellent purchase for fans of, biohazard, tool or earthtone9 producing a strange combination that very few would have ever expected to work, let alone proceed to create  one of the most original albums to be heard in years
