(iv) the aftermath

Miocene were pleased with the way the night had turned out, the fear that the place wouldnt get full, the fear few people would show up quashed, the next dilemma on the cards to go out to the Cathouse or to head off to where we were staying tonight, I wouldnt have minded a night out but my body wouldnt have thanked me in the morning so thankfull we were simply going to head to where we going to crash tonight.

Before we could go anywhere the process of loading had to be done and it took forever to do since inbetween taking objects to the van Porcelain Roach and Miocene chatted away, it was nice to see that a bond had formed between the bands making for a cool tour.

Eventually the venue was cleared of our belongings & the van loaded before the rain kicked in, I legged it upstairs and made sure nothing was left behind, we then said our goodbyes to the Alan, Dave & Craig, thanking them for a memorable night.

Still unclear about who we were staying with our faces lit up at the sight of who was putting us up, a friend of Ben's called Carla, eventually my blood returned upstairs and the stomachs in the van empty and in need of food.  Carla directed us to a cool takeaway that did everything, so with our hunger satisfied we were on our way.

The drive didnt take too long, it was dark and the ground slightly squishy, the result of rain and grit combining together, I mad sure I wiped my shoes before entering the house.

Her place was a lovely ground floor maisonette, warm and inviting and very feminine.  All inside we headed into the lounge, took our shoes off, Leo pounced upon the sofa, Graham on one armchair and Dave on the other, the rest of us sat on the soft, fluffy and warm carpet, no complaints.

Carla pouring out whiskey for those that wanted it, we all chatted for sometime before Dave reached into his bag and pulled out Evil Dead 3 on video, inserted it in the video, nothing happened, plan B, Alex rescuing us with his Cd collection, Kyuss, Portishead & Sneakerpimps loaded into the multi changer.

After a little while we decided to it was time to sleep, Carla headed off to her room, the rest dived into their sleeping bags whilst I curled up once more into a ball and pulled my hood over my eyes and went to sleep.
