(iii) the show

Graham made his way onstage first as usual and began to attack the crowd with sounds from them sweet pedals whilst the rest joined him onstage, my fingers were tightly crossed, praying the crowd would like them, praying the equipment would be fine and praying the sound would be good.

The kids all moved forward as the 'Free Reign' started things off and they were wild, this was no mosh before my eyes this was full on energy release, they flung themselves into each other, it all seemed friendly though, no hatred on display just raw immature boys enjoying themselves which was cool and all but they werent there for the music and it hurt so much upfront.

I got impaled against the railings, my knees got compressed against the railing by the heads of the fallen, I had to keep checking over my shoulder and by the time 'Sustained Reaction got played I decided to really enjoy the show I would have to just stand at the back, did I mention the floor was bouncing too.

The sound in the venue was good which was cool considering the only soundcheck they got was just before they went on, I enjoyed the rest of the show from the back and just watched as the boys piled into one another, total and utter chaos unfolding before my eyes, it reminded me somewhat of the crowd in the 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' video.

'Fits Like That' was going to end the set, my cue to leave and return to the merch in the hoe that people would be buying tshirts and asking after Miocene when the music ended, the sound upstairs was just as good as downstairs, I closed my eyes and pictured the pit going on as the song drew to a close, lots of aches of pains for the boys in that pit tonight.
