(i) the journey

Yet again I was awake before the others, not really too hard a task, today I wanted to make sure we had enough time to get to Newcastle, if we left by midday we would get there on time though to do this I had the unenviable task of opening up the eyes of Ben before checking the sleep status of the others.

Upstairs Leo & Alex were sharing a bed, if only I had my camera, I kept giggling on my way around te house as I checked on Tony, I mean they were both in separate sleeping bags but it was the big grins on their faces when they came downstairs that set me off, thinking sordid thoughts :p

Graham awoke coughing, sneezing and with sore eyes, it seems the removal of cats from the room wasnt enough, when I asked what was wrong Graham explained that a cat need only have been in the room a some point during the day to trigger off an allergic reaction whereas Ben had to come into contact with a cat to react thus expaining why he was fine when he arose from his sleeping bag.

Well with everyone awake and ready to go we popped out to the shops to get food for the journey, it seems that Bob's cats were intent on leaving their mark on us, my new trainers the new target, I like cats normally but this one suckered me in by being nice to me and then turned its head towards my trainer and attempted to sink its teeth into the rubber at the front, I saw what was going on and fled, hehe... :p

Ready to go we headed to the van, Leo smiling because he bought himself a new frisbee for one pound, bright yellow with purple plastic fans on its surface showing it to us before we dumped our bags in the van and said our goodbyes and thank yous to Bob, sliding the door shut, waving to him as the van reversed out onto the road out of Montrose.

Upfront and aiding Tony with directions was where I chose to be today, well Dave and the others were finally going to watch Evil Dead 3, I had seen the others and well they dont appeal to me and I might as well let the others enjoy it whilst Tony & I chatted about all things hardcore.

We were making good progress so our midway stop was going to longer than planned, Leo excited got out his new frisbee but within seconds disaster struck, on its maiden flight it landed on the ground and shattered into pieces, a conversation about kids getting ripped off and feeling gutted ensued, one pound to me was a lot of money when I was about seven.

Graham & Dave were once more on their skateboards attempting to pull of the same tricks as last time, well they do say practice makes perfect, my guitar teacher told me tha when I was about 9, I didnt pay much attention and instead of musical talent I work in a haematology lab, let that be a lesson to you :p

Off on our travels again the guys watched the end of Evil Dead 3 before dropping off to sleep one by one, Leo fallins asleep on Alex's shoulder, both of them looking so peaceful when asleep, tired as well I closed my eyes and went to sleep.

When I awoke I was surprised we werent as close as we should have been, tony told me that we got stuck behind a tractor for fifteen miles & you cant exactly overtake when you are driving down narrow roads especially when you are in a minibus, oh well good job we left on time :p

Nature was calling, Tony stopped by the roadside when there was parking space and the synchronized peeing begun, the boys in the back letting rip fertilising the soil of the field by the roadside, hehe.....

Back in he van, the guys in the back sitting comfortably now as the distance between us and Newcastle got shorter & shorter until we arrived into the city and pulled up outside the university gates asking for directions to the venue.
